CEE4Impact Day 2026Budapest | 8 October | Museum of Ethnography

Impact investing in Europe stands at a crossroad. Between regulatory pressure, diluted terminology, and growing capital constraints, one question remains: If we can move closer to a healthier economic model — what we might call impact capitalism or smart capitalism — by building a meaningful base of impact-driven SMEs within the EU, we could create a small yet powerful pattern that could serve as a unique selling point for Europe. One of the core goals of Impact CEE is to support the transformation of regional economies by fostering more impact-driven SMEs and impact investments. This mission is deeply connected to Europe’s urgent need for a renewed continental value proposition—an answer to how the “old continent” can thrive between global powerhouses like the US and China.Join us for the CEE4Impact Day 2026, a premier one-day international conference that fosters impact-driven investments in Central and Eastern Europe.

Is impact truly investable — and if so, where and how?

Central and Eastern Europe may hold part of the answer.

REGENERATIVE CAPITALISM may hold part of the answer!

Impact investing is not about “saving the world,” nor is it a shortcut to moral superiority. It is simply a more intelligent, intentional and regenerative version of capitalism.

Capitalism itself is neither inherently good nor bad. It is a system optimized for efficiency and growth. But its historical weakness has often been the assumption that the regeneration of human and natural resources is someone else’s responsibility. That assumption is increasingly incompatible with long-term prosperity.

Human potential remains the world’s only truly unlimited resource. If we systematically exhaust human and natural capital, we undermine the very foundations of sustainable growth and innovation.

Profit and growth are essential.

However, regeneration must become equally essential.

By supporting companies that solve real social and environmental challenges in measurable, scalable, and profitable ways, we are not only building sustainable businesses — we are helping create replicable models for a healthier economy.
