Central & Eastern Europe has become one of Europe’s most compelling VC opportunity platform. Between 2019–2023, tech enterprise's value in this region jumpe from €89B to €213B (Dealroom). In 2024 alone, investments grew +50%, fundraising +66%, and exits +17% — almost twice the pace of the broader EU (Invest Europe/TheRecursive). Even amid global contraction, CEE proved resilient, dipping only –15% vs –35% in Western Europe (EU.VC). As of 2022, 44 of Europe’s 179 unicorns hailed from CEE (Vestbee), now climbing to 50+ worth ~$200B across 12 countries (Dealroom), with four new unicorns born in 2024 (TheRecursive). Returns follow suit: 2.09× gross and 9.95% net over 10 years (EBRD).
