
Semi Hakim
Semi Hakim began his career in the culinary world after completing his degree in Tourism Management and professional culinary training in Istanbul. As a chef, he engaged in extensive research on food and culture, led gastro-diplomacy initiatives, and coordinated various food events. He also directed projects aimed at supporting small-scale food producers in Turkey. Building on his passion for the intersection of food and economics, Semi pursued a Master’s in Agricultural Economics.
In 2015, Semi co-founded Kök Projekt with Shirley Kaston, focusing on developing agri-food accelerator programs in Emerging Markets. Kök Projekt, an agri-food management consulting company, collaborates with corporations, governmental organizations, and investment funds to address climate adaptation, food security, and water security challenges.
In line with Kök Projekt’s mission, the company established Kök Ventures, aimed at investing in innovative technologies within the agri-food sector across Emerging Markets. Through Kök Ventures, Semi and his team are committed to fostering solutions that support climate adaptation and drive sustainable development in the industry.
