Good Deeds Day at Bethesda Children's Hospital

Good Deeds Day is a global movement of people who are dedicated to doing good and has been around already for 20 years.

Hungary has joined for the second year now, thanks MaholnapAlapítványDr. Tibor Hejj, and Impact CEE has been active since the beginning. 😍

Last week, the Impact CEE community wished to give back to society.

We are priviliged that Hungary has such a high-level Childrens' Hospital, the Bethesda Gyermekkórház, who not only deal with around 200,000 cases on a yearly level, but also nurture a variety of social issues:

  • Children and the Digital World

The hospital has issued a document called "Help your Child Find its Way Back to the Offline World!", giving tried and tested tips to families to find the right balance between the real and the digital world.

  • Children and the World of Hospital

The hospital has issued a document called "Super Heroe Guide", which explains about the problems faced by families who suddenly arrive to the world of hospitals in a playful manner.

  • ADHD Children: A Specialty Clinic is available for ADHD children and their families

  • Health

With the podcast series called "A Cup of Health", lead by the well-known reporter, Gábor Gundel-Takács, renowned professionals speak about issues in connection with children's physical and psychological well-being on a monthly basis

  • Health and Faith

A professional conference is organised on a yearly basis about the importance of faith and a healthy soul in the road leading to healing

  • Anaphylactic Children

A day for giving help and assistance to anaphylactic children and their families

They additionally serve as centers for a number of health services for the whole of the country, helping those children with unique medical needs:

  • National Center for the Care of Children with Burns,

  • Children’s Epilepsy Center,

  • The Center for Children on Home Ventilation

  • Pain Management Center

Last Wednesday, we spent the afternoon at the Rehabilitation Center of the Bethesda Hospital, where we tried to make the children's weekdays a bit more colourful by organising a Creative Afternoon. 🏨

We played with playdough, read some childrens' stories, made bracelets, played card games, short board games, we drew and coloured.

The power of music was also felt in the afternoon, as one of our volunteers played on the guitar, whilst we sang a few songs.

We met real heroes. Children, teenagers, parents, nurses and doctors.

But even heroes enjoy doing everyday things, as they are also only everyday people.

Keep up the great work that you are doing!

Thanks to You we received much more than we gave:

FAITH & POWER TO BELIEVE

HOPE
