Mr. Gunter Fischer, has been with the European Investment Bank(EIB) group for 24 years. He currently holds the position of Head of the Foundations, Impact and Foresight Unit at EIB Institute in Luxembourg. Initially, Gunter focused on European VC and PE funds at the European Investment Fund (EIF). In 2008, he moved to EIB to focus on Climate Action investments in emerging markets and developing countries. In 2024, he joined the EIB Institute to lead activities related to foundations, impact and foresight, fostering partnerships with foundations, investors, innovators and thought leaders to mobilise resources and advance impact-driven initiatives. He holds a PhD in Finance from the Europauniversität Viadrina and degrees in business and law from Reims Business School and the University of St. Gallen.
