Matteo is an experienced manager of the European Investment Bank with a unique expertise in infrastructure, impact and development finance.

With his team he finances sustainable investments in Ukraine, Moldova and South Caucasus after covering Türkiye and Western Balkans.

Previous experience as advisor to the EIB Italian Vice-President and legal advisor on the EIB operations in Italy, Greece and Cyprus, nurtured and enriched his strategist and policy-oriented profile.

Matteo speaks at international events (Financial Times, Economist) as an expert on investment financing, particularly in the EU Enlargement geography and recently published Hope and strength in the Western Balkans (Big Ideas) (eib.org) (EIB, 2020) as well as “Finance for Sustainability: a Useful Tool for Policymakers” in Infrastructure in a Changing World: Trends and Challenges | ISPI (ispionline.it) (ISPI-McKinsey, 2020).
