Risto Väyrynen is the founder of The Impact Office, where he brings together Now Gens from families to invest in projects that actually make a difference for the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A fourth-generation baker from an artisanal bakery business in Finland, Risto has a background in launching start-ups, leading investment funds, and serving as Managing Partner of an asset management company in Geneva - always focused on turning good ideas into real impact.

He previously led the World Economic Forum’s Family Business Community, focusing on global impact and leadership in family platforms. Within the Family Business Network International, he served as Vice-President of the Next Gen community and co-founded FBN Polaris (currently FBN Impact) and the Now Gen movements. He is currently a member of the FBN Council of Wisdom, helping family businesses drive sustainability and innovation.

When he’s not working on impact investing and business transformation

Risto keeps busy as the founder of the Polaris Cycling Team and, for a fun twist, he’s also the Snooker Champion of both Switzerland and Finland. He holds an MBA in Family Business from EDHEC Business School.
